Project Description
Metal roof installation Phelpston Ontario involved upgrading a large residential property with a durable, ventilated metal roofing system designed to provide long-term protection and performance in Ontario’s climate.
Because of the size and complexity of the roof structure, careful preparation of the roofing surface was required before installing the metal panels. The existing asphalt shingle roof remained in place, and a high-quality synthetic waterproof membrane was installed directly over the shingles to provide an additional layer of moisture protection.
A wooden strapping system was then installed across the entire roof surface to create a continuous ventilation space beneath the metal roofing panels. This ventilated framework allows proper airflow through the roof assembly, helping regulate temperature and reduce the risk of condensation while also ensuring accurate panel alignment and secure fastening.
To improve attic ventilation, the ridge sections of the roof were opened to allow continuous airflow from the attic space. A protective metal mesh was installed along the ridge openings to prevent animals such as squirrels or birds from entering the attic while maintaining proper ventilation.
After the roof structure and ventilation system were prepared, Monterrey-style metal roofing panels manufactured by ThyssenKrupp (Germany) were installed. The project also included the installation of ridge caps, flashings, and other roofing components designed to provide reliable weather protection and a clean architectural finish.
Due to the scale and layout of the roof, special attention was given to ventilation performance, panel alignment, and long-term structural durability.
The completed project resulted in a high-performance ventilated metal roofing system that enhances the home’s durability, improves attic ventilation, and provides a modern, long-lasting roofing solution built to withstand Ontario’s demanding weather conditions.
