Project Description
Metal roof installation Erin Ontario was completed for this residential property to upgrade the existing asphalt shingle roof to a long-lasting metal roofing system while maintaining proper roof ventilation.
Instead of removing the existing shingles, our team installed a high-quality synthetic waterproof membrane directly over the shingle surface to provide an additional layer of protection against moisture. A wooden strapping system was then installed across the roof to create a ventilated air gap beneath the metal panels. This ventilation space improves airflow, helps regulate roof temperature, and reduces the risk of condensation buildup.
To improve the home’s attic ventilation, the ridge of the roof was carefully opened to allow continuous airflow from the attic space. A protective metal mesh was installed along the ridge opening to prevent animals such as squirrels or birds from entering the attic while still allowing proper ventilation.
Once the roof preparation and ventilation system were completed, Monterrey-style metal roofing panels manufactured from premium ArcelorMittal steel were installed and secured with corrosion-resistant fasteners. The project also included the installation of ridge caps, flashings, and other roofing accessories to ensure long-term weather protection and a clean architectural finish.
A snow retention system was installed on the roof to help control snow movement during winter and improve overall safety around the home.
The finished result is a durable, ventilated metal roofing system designed to withstand Ontario’s harsh weather conditions while significantly improving the home’s appearance and long-term performance.
